Film and Lecture Series: The “Disappeared” of Chile
Joyce Horman, widow of Charles Horman.
Feature film: “Missing” (1982) directed by Costa-Gravas with Jack Lemmon and Sissy Spacek.
Based on Thomas Hauser’s 1978 book The Execution of Charles Horman: An American Sacrifice, “Missing” relates the story of American journalist Charles Horman who was murdered in September, 1973, because he obtained knowledge about the U.S. role in the coup against the Allende government.
