Resumen: El objetivo de la investigación se centra en demostrar que no es lo mismo entender que la misión principal de la universidad es la formación de los profesionales que requieren un entrenamiento intelectual superior, que comprender que es la investigación científica o la transmisión de la cultura superior. El propósito de la investigación es profundizar en esta dirección a partir de una revisión bibliográfica muy específica señalada al final del trabajo y con una metodología fundamentalmente descriptiva con unas fases o etapas que se centran en aspectos centrales de la cuestión para terminar con unas conclusiones breves que se concretan en diez puntos.

Abstract: The objective of the investigation is centred in demonstrating that it is not the same thing to understand that the main mission of the university is the formation of the professionals who require a superior intellectual training, that to understand that it is the scientific research or the transmission of the superior culture. The intention of the investigation is to deepen in this direction from a very specific bibliographical revision indicated at the end of the work and with a fundamentally descriptive methodology with phases or stages that are centred in central aspects of the question to finish with brief conclusions that they take shape in ten points.
